Oh, where to start.
Back in July 2021, we moved from that crappy little apartment in Silverton. We moved to Mt. Angel (back to Mt. Angel, for me) and live in a three bedroom townhouse/apartment. I love it here. So much that I worry that something will happen and we'll have to move.
Caius is in 2nd grade. Ari graduated in 2024! She will be 21 this year.
I work at a liquor store! So weird considering I don't drink.
Sage passed away in June 2021, just a couple weeks before we moved. She would have loved out new place.
Zoe passed away in June 2023. She had a tumor on her belly that created this weird hole around her nipple. But also her teeth were bad, so I'm not sure exactly how she died, I don't know if it was cancer or a blood infection. She died alone while we were out at Lindsey's house, but I honestly think she waited for us to leave. She kept trying to wander away. She'd stay outside for hours by herself days before she died.
Evil Lynn, a cat that had belonged to my old neighbor Juanita, was killed by roaming dogs. They had also killed my neighbors 18year old cat. The dogs were caught, taken and put to sleep. These same two dogs had gotten loose months prior and killed a different elderly cat, that belonged to and elderly guy. Evil Lynn was about 14 years old and had no teeth to protect herself.
My dad passed away in October 2023. I hadn't talked to him since I was pregnant with Caius... in person anyways. I had gotten texts from him in around 2019ish. I didn't know where he lived, I knew in Salem, but didn't know where. We'd had a fight through texts and I didn't speak to him after he told me to tell my siblings to fuck off.
I was walking through Spirit Halloween with Ari and Caius when I got the call that he'd died. It was a shock. I always thought I'd see him again. It took me a while, months, maybe even a year, for sadness to hit. It hit Tyler like a freight train. He was calling everyone. He had a hard time while I was in the "meh" stage. Tyler had actually been staying with us since he had no where to live.
I had to kick him out when he wouldn't stop drinking after I'd asked him to.
Kiara passed away in May 2024. She had a tumor in her intestines. Removing it wouldn't have mattered, we were told. We did try steroids to shrink it, but it didn't work. Silverton Cat Rescue payed $700 toward her care. I cried when Vivian told me she would help.
Simba was run over and killed in September 2024.
We took in a stray that lived in our area a couple months after Simba died. Some neighbor called him George Jr, but we renamed him Boon and got him neutered.
In June 2025, we found a litter of kittens with their mom. We were on our way to the mall in downtown Salem. I thought, when we come back, if that fluffy one is still there we will take it. So when we got home, we found the kitten, and took him inside. A month later, it was so hot, we went and found the left over female (we don't know what happened to the other girl kitten) We decided to keep the girl kitten soon after she was reunited with her brother.
We have five cats. We have Jack still.
We have two chinchillas.
I sold my Ford Explorer "Blanca" and bought a new car that I love. its a Honda Pilot we call Sea Biscuit.
I have a crush on one of my customers. His name is David. I've been "serving" him for probably 2 years. He's somewhat of a regular, not someone who comes every day but maybe a couple times a week. He introduced himself on Tuesday. It's kind of funny cause I've had a crush on him for maybe a month or two-ish. Monday he asked me if I liked the music that played in the store. I said it was alright, I didn't mind some of the songs. I asked him what kind of music he liked. He said he likes music where they can play their own instruments.
Tuesday when he came in, later in the day, like 5:30 or so, he said "You know, I've never introduced myself." I feel like i remember interupting him and said "What's your name?" He said his name is David, and I don't remember if he asked what my name was or if i just told him. I said Jessica. He asked "Jessie?" I said, "jessica, jessie, either one." I can't remember what else was said before I said "it's nice to formally meet you, David." then he left and I said "see you next time." I didn't mean to sound like i was just talking to a random person... I mean, I guess he is, but not? I dunno lol.
